I co-founded Catalyst with my husband in 2015 in Evans, Georgia, we started as a LLC and offered Leadership Consulting and Team Training. I attended the Syracuse University Institute for Veterans and Military Families’ Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-Wise) program and gained knowledge and insight valuable in launching a business. We tapped into local resources through the SBA and joined local Chambers of Commerce.
The key to building our successful business is networking and establishing solid relationships while delivering high quality, consistent, measurable, and lasting results.
My advice for new businesses; they should have a clear business plan and identify goals with a definitive time line so that they can come up with strategies to reach those goals and watch their business grow.
I’d also recommend the Mentor-Protege program to integrate with large corporations. This can streamline your effort by allowing you to benefit from a larger company’s resources and expertise and partnering to provide services the larger company may not have.
Being a finalist for the Women’s Veteran Business Enterprise of the Year award was an awesome opportunity to have an intimate audience to shine light on my company and the impact that we have made.
