The National Veteran-Owned Business Association
The National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the interests of veteran-owned businesses. With two-thirds of NaVOBA’s Board of Directors held by corporations, the organization ensures strong alignment with the needs of corporate supplier diversity programs.
Exclusive Certification for Veteran-Owned Businesses
NaVOBA offers the Certified Veteran’s Business Enterprise™ (VBE) and Certified Service-Disabled Veteran’s Business Enterprise™ (SDVBE) designations, providing exclusive certification for veteran-owned businesses in the private sector. Our certification process ensures that businesses are at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by U.S. military veterans, mirroring other corporate diversity certifications like MBE and WBE.
Efficient, Secure, and Affordable Certification
NaVOBA’s certification process is designed to be efficient, secure, and cost-effective for veteran-owned businesses. We collect military service record information directly from the U.S. Federal Government, ensuring legitimacy and preventing fraud. This streamlined approach accelerates the certification process and minimizes paperwork.
We also conduct site visits for all applicants, ensuring thorough vetting. The certification is valid for three years, after which recertification is required. Most importantly, NaVOBA offers substantially lower certification costs than other private sector programs, making it an accessible option for veteran entrepreneurs.
Partnership & Recognition
Since joining the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) in 2019, NaVOBA has strengthened its position as a leader in veteran business advocacy. Through partnerships with organizations such as the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Disability:IN, National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), and others, NaVOBA works alongside industry leaders to promote diversity and inclusion in business.
These strategic collaborations enable NaVOBA to provide more opportunities for veteran business owners and amplify their voices in the broader diversity and inclusion landscape.
