About the Business - Discover, Delegate, & Be Free

What services do you provide?

"Digital Marketing and Administrative Services"

Who are your primary customers?

"Nonprofits, Solopreneurs, Startups, and busy professionals in underrepresented (veteran, minority, LGBTQ) communities."

When and how did you start your business?

"'I started the business in 2021 upon relocating from Washington, DC, to Miami, FL. My husband had been following me and my career for so many years, that we decided it was time for me to follow his career progression."

Business Growth Challenges - Growing Through Challenge and Change

What were some of the challenges in starting your business?

"Funding. Having relocated from DC to FL, we exhausted much of our savings in the shipping of the household goods as well as the setting up of the living arrangements in South Florida."

What is the key to the success of your business?

"Perseverance. For me, it was a dream and a passion, and I didn't give it up, even when it seemed it was the end of the opportunity."

What lessons learned can you share with people to make their business succeed?

"The time is never going to "perfect" launch, but as long as you have a pulse and a passion, take the chance on yourself. I waited and waited for the "perfect" moment to launch - and quite frankly, it didn't come soon enough, so I took a leap of faith in myself and my business model... and we are well over a year since startup - still have some struggles - but extremely glad we decided to go for it."

What pitfalls should they avoid?

"Scaling and Growing too quickly. Do your best work and let it shine through, then when the funding is there, the processes are in place, and the vibes are all there - you'll know when to scale to grow. I made the mistake of hiring too quickly, and not only was the funding not in place, I also had to let go of some good folks, and the transition degraded the relationship with some of my clients."

What other information about you and your business would you like to share with the NaVOBA community?

"Being a member of the NaVOBA community, NGLCC, DisabilityIN, and my local Chambers of Commerce-membership, belonging, and professional resources- have helped take Go Digital Hero to the next level. I have been selected to be a reality TV show for Entrepreneurs, "The Blox," in January 2023, with an airing in March 2023. Additionally, I am working on writing a book based on my journey of serving under the struggles and trauma of DADT to the joys of becoming a CEO."
