What services do you provide?

"I would love to tell you about the heart and soul of Superbeo—our certifications as a Service-Disabled Veteran (NaVOBA), Certified LGBTQ+ Business Enterprise (NGLCC) and Disability:IN Certified Global Staffing Solutions Provider and our affiliation with these organizations. You see, when we talk about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (D.E.I.B.), we're not just checking boxes; it’s in our DNA. This commitment runs so deep that it's led us to earn special certifications and awards that vouch for our dedication.

But what do we actually do? Well, we’re the Gerber (multi tool) of staffing solutions. Whether you're looking for top-tier temporary talent, direct hires, or more specialized solutions like Employer of Record (EOR), Agent of Record (AOR), or even Statement of Work (SOW) engagements—we've got you covered.

And let's talk about sectors for a second. We're not just a jack-of-all-trades; we're masters, especially in the life sciences arena. We’re absolutely committed to helping our clients enrich their teams with the diverse and specialized talent they need to soar. That's why industry heavyweights choose to work with us.

So, when you partner with Superbeo, you’re getting more than a staffing agency; you’re aligning with a committed advocate for D.E.I.B., a provider of versatile staffing solutions, and a recognized leader in specialized fields like IT Technologies and life sciences. We're not just filling roles; we're enriching corporate cultures and changing the game."

Who are your primary customers?

"Fantastic question! You want to know who's turning to Superbeo for their specialized staffing needs? Well, we're talking about tech titans like Intel, infrastructure giants such as Southern California Edison, and engineering leaders like National Instruments. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

But we don't stop at direct enterprise partnerships. We also work with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) like AgileOne, KellyOCG, and from the Healthcare space, AMN, and AYA to ensure that businesses of all sizes and types get the diverse, specialized talent they need.

Why do these big names choose us? It's because we're not just filling roles; we're initiating partnerships and fostering innovation. With a 100% diverse C-suite and a highly inclusive talent pool, we are committed to both excellence and representation.

Our team works 24x7 across time zones, making sure that whether you're a pioneering tech firm in need of AI specialists or a healthcare institution looking for top-notch Lifesciences experts, we’ve got the right people for you. So if you're aiming to be at the forefront of innovation and diversity, come join the ranks of our esteemed clients. With Superbeo, you're not just getting a staffing solution; you're getting a strategic partner. "

When and how did you start your business?

"Ah, the origin story of Superbeo—always a topic close to my heart!

You know, every great venture starts with a "Eureka" moment. For us, it was the realization that despite the tech boom and rapid advancements in industries like AI and Healthcare, there was a glaring gap. Companies were struggling to find specialized, diverse talent, and individuals from underrepresented communities were finding it challenging to break into these fields. So, we thought, why not bridge this divide?

And so, Superbeo was born. We began modestly but with a massive ambition: to revolutionize staffing in tech-intensive fields while prioritizing diversity and inclusion. Today, that vision has become a reality. We're partnering with industry leaders to make the dream a reality.

Our commitment to diversity is not just talk; our numbers back it up with a 100% diverse C-suite and strong diversity metrics across our staff and placements. It's this unique blend of specialized focus and commitment to diversity that has made us the go-to strategic staffing partner for some of the biggest names in the industry.

And let me tell you, this journey has been nothing short of exhilarating. With a 24x7 team operating across the globe, we’re constantly on the move, making sure that our clients always have the specialized and diverse talent they need to succeed.

So, that’s Superbeo in a nutshell: a vision to innovate staffing, an unwavering commitment to diversity, and an incredible team making it all happen."

Business Growth Challenges - Growing Through Challenge and Change

What were some of the challenges in starting your business?

"Starting Superbeo was a bit like building a plane while flying it, or as an Army Paratrooper, packing your chute while jumping! One of our first roadblocks was, undoubtedly, breaking into industries already filled with established players. We were the newcomers, waving our diversity flags and pitching specialized staffing solutions in a sea of giants.
And speaking of diversity—our core ethos—it wasn’t the industry standard back when we started. Convincing clients to take a leap of faith with us, to prioritize not just top-tier talent but diverse talent, was an uphill battle. But hey, nothing worth doing is ever easy, right?
The operational intricacies were another beast altogether. We wanted to offer a wide array of staffing solutions—temporary, direct hire, EOR, AOR, SOW—you name it. Balancing this extensive service list while maintaining quality and focus required some real tightrope walking.
And let’s not forget, to assemble a dream team to bring this all to life. We needed recruiters who were more than just headhunters—people who understood our D.E.I.B. goals and could operate on a 24x7 global scale.
So, how did we navigate these challenges? With grit, innovation, and an unwavering belief in our mission. Every obstacle became a steppingstone, every ‘no’ fueled the fire for a hundred ‘yeses.’ And today, when I see names like Vistra, Intel, Southern California Edison, AgileOne, AYA and so many others on our client list, I’m reminded that every challenge was a chapter in our epic tale."

What is the key to the success of your business?

"The secret sauce to Superbeo's success? I'd say it boils down to three core principles: Specialization, Diversity, and Adaptability.

First, let's talk about specialization. We're not here to be the Jack of all trades; we're the Masters of The Specific. Whether it's AI, Life Sciences, or Cybersecurity, we bring deep industry knowledge to the table. We can speak the language, understand the challenges, and deliver the talent that will make a real difference.

Now, on to diversity. We're not just talking numbers; we're talking about a company culture built around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (D.E.I.B.). That's not just some corporate lingo; it’s our operating system. It's why we have a 100% diverse C-suite and focus on underrepresented communities in our placements. We don’t just preach diversity; we practice it.

And let’s not forget adaptability. The business world is always shifting. What worked yesterday won't necessarily work tomorrow. So we stay agile, we stay hungry, and we stay ahead of the curve. Whether that means adjusting our recruiting techniques, expanding our service offerings, or adapting to new industry trends—flexibility is in our DNA.

So there it is. Specialization gets us in the door, diversity sets us apart, and adaptability ensures our longevity. Add a sprinkle of relentless drive and a dash of global reach, and you've got the Superbeo recipe for success."

What lessons learned can you share with people to make their business succeed?

"First, let's talk about passion. I can't stress this enough: You've got to be in love with what you're doing. Trust me, there will be late nights and early mornings, challenging clients, and unexpected hurdles. It's your passion that will keep you motivated. For us at Superbeo, as ambassadors for underrepresented communities, our burning desire to take diversity beyond spend and shake up the staffing game to elevate diversity saw us through the most challenging times.

Secondly, find your niche and own it. Look, the market's saturated in almost every sector. What's going to make you stand out? For us, it was diving into tech-heavy sectors like AI and Life Sciences. We didn't just want to be another staffing agency; we aimed to be the go-to experts for companies looking for specialized talent in these cutting-edge fields.
But wait, there's more. Adaptability is your best friend in this fast-paced business world. Whether it's a global pandemic or a disruptive new technology, something is always around the corner to throw a wrench in your plans. Being nimble and ready to pivot—that's your safety net.

Last but certainly not least, I always appreciate the value of a robust and diverse team. If I've learned anything, diversity isn't just a buzzword—it's a business imperative. A diverse group brings diverse perspectives, and that's where true innovation thrives.
To sum it up: Be passionate, specialize, stay adaptable, and embrace diversity. Keep these four pillars at the core of your business, and you'll survive and thrive just like we did at Superbeo."

What pitfalls should they avoid?

"Pitfalls — or the dark side of the entrepreneurial moon, if you will! Every business journey has its share of potholes, and it's easy to stumble if you're not careful. So, let me share a couple of "watch out for these" warnings based on my ride with Superbeo.

First up, avoid the "Yes Man" trap. It's tempting to surround yourself with people who always agree with you because, let's face it, who doesn't like their ego stroked? But trust me, you need those dissenting voices, the ones that question and challenge you. That's how you grow and avoid costly mistakes.

Next on the list: Don't try to be a one-size-fits-all solution. Refrain from spreading yourself too thin and failing to do anything exceptionally well. Pick a lane and be the best in that lane.
Also, take into account cash flow. I can't tell you how many businesses I've seen with great ideas and substantial sales numbers that crashed and burned simply because they didn't manage their cash flow. Money in the bank today doesn't mean it'll be there tomorrow, so keep an eye on those financials like a hawk.

Oh, and this is HUGE—avoid complacency like the plague. The minute you think you've "made it," you're already on the path to irrelevance. Stay hungry, keep innovating, and never rest on your laurels. We take that to heart at Superbeo, constantly pushing the envelope in specialized staffing and diversity initiatives.

Lastly, make sure to build a company culture. Getting caught up in the numbers is easy, and you must remember that people make or break a business. Create an environment where everyone feels valued and included. Diversity and inclusion aren't just buzzwords; they should be a fundamental part of your business strategy.

So, there you have it. Dodge these pitfalls, and you're already ahead of the game. Of course, you'll still hit bumps—no journey's perfect—but at least you won't drive off the cliff!"

What other information about you and your business would you like to share with the NaVOBA Community?

"The NaVOBA community! What an incredible network of supporters and mentors. We feel a real sense of belonging and gratitude to be a part of this fantastic family. Special shoutouts to Matt, Mimi, the board, and everyone else at NaVOBA for standing by us every step of the way. They've been our cheerleaders, sounding boards, and sometimes even reality checks!

You know, NaVOBA is more than just a certifying body for us. It's so much more—it's a mentor, it's a family. And the culture there is something extraordinary. It's not just about ticking off boxes; everyone is genuinely interested in your success, which is rare. We've benefited enormously from the insights and camaraderie that come from being a part of such an engaged community.

So, while I could talk all day about the intricacies of Superbeo, I really want to emphasize how much we appreciate being part of the NaVOBA family. We're not just grateful for the certification and the business opportunities that come with it; we're thankful for the relationships, the mentorship, and the shared sense of purpose.

So, to Matt, Mimi, the board, and the entire NaVOBA family—thank you for enriching our journey. We're humbled and excited for what the future holds, not just for Superbeo but all veteran-owned businesses that benefit from this incredible network.

That's it in a nutshell. Feel free to connect; we're open to sharing and learning from everyone in this fantastic community."

Why did you join the military?

"The question of why I joined the military—that's a story! It was after 9/11, and this palpable call to action was in the air. At 27, I was sitting behind a desk, doing the nine-to-five grind, but I felt this compelling need to do something more impactful. So, I left my office behind and enlisted with this romanticized idea of "jumping out of planes and blowing stuff up" as a combat engineer paratrooper. I thought I was signing up for Hollywood-style action scenes, but the reality was so much more nuanced—and meaningful.

Don't get me wrong, war is a brutal, unforgiving place. We faced tragedy and heartbreak, and those experiences left an indelible mark. But amidst that chaos, I found something unexpectedly beautiful. I met local people in war-torn countries who were just like you and me—ordinary folks trying to live their lives under extraordinary circumstances. And we had the chance to help them genuinely.

We didn't just go in as soldiers; we also became builders and healers. Working hand-in-hand with our military family from around the globe, we constructed field hospitals in areas where medical support was just a distant dream. We treated everything from scraped knees to complicated surgeries, improving the quality of life for so many.

But it was about more than just the infrastructure or the medical support. We also contributed to education and local industry. We were helping to sow the seeds for a better future, not just putting out fires.

So, while my initial motives for joining might have been somewhat naïve and action-packed, I found a much deeper, enriching experience. It wasn't just about being a soldier; it was about being a part of a global community and making a tangible difference. And those lessons have stayed with me, shaping who I am and how we approach our mission at Superbeo.

That's the long and short of it, and I wouldn't trade those years for anything. They made me who I am today and profoundly influenced how we operate at Superbeo—always striving to make a meaningful impact."

Military Occupation:

"That's always an interesting walk down memory lane. I was a Combat Engineer Paratrooper stationed out of good ol' Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Now, the title sounds pretty intense, and trust me, it was, but only sometimes in the way you'd expect.

When most people hear "Combat Engineer Paratrooper," they immediately think, "Oh, jumping out of planes and blowing stuff up," right? And sure, that was part of it. But there's a whole other side to the job that doesn't make it into the movies.

We were also responsible for building bridges, roads, and field hospitals. So yes, while we had our fair share of adrenaline-pumping moments—jumping out of C-130s with parachutes strapped to our backs—we also wore other hats. Think of it as a mix of demolition experts meets construction workers, with a sprinkle of first-responder duties thrown in.

Being a Combat Engineer Paratrooper is like being the Swiss Army knife of the military—you have to be versatile and ready for anything. One moment, you might be disarming explosives; the next, you could be helping construct a medical facility for local communities.
It was an incredibly enriching experience, full of complexity and nuance. There were hard times, and the stakes were often high, but those years also equipped me with a unique skill set and perspective that I carry into my work at Superbeo today. You learn a lot about teamwork, resilience, and the real, tangible impact you can have when you're put in such diverse situations."

Any significant military achievements / experience you would like to mention?

"You know, one thing I've always believed is that no matter where you find yourself, you can excel with grit, hard work, and a whole lot of passion. The military was no exception.
While my main role was as a Combat Engineer Paratrooper, that was just the tip of the iceberg for me. Because I was so driven to 'make things better,' as I like to say, I wore multiple hats. I also served as an Armorer and a Postal Agent, and I had signature authority for both my company commander, 1st sergeant, and the Motor Pool Chief. Not just that, I also managed Supply and logistics. And —I accomplished all of this in less than two years, starting from the rank of Private.

When I first enlisted, my ASVAB scores were high enough that they wanted to funnel me into officer training. And while that was flattering, I couldn't see myself directing young heroes who had already been seasoned in combat while I was still wet behind the ears. For me, it was crucial to know the job from the ground up and to understand every facet of it if I was going to make a meaningful impact and build trust with my battle buddies (fellow soldiers) in the unit.

And that's the thing I want to emphasize—nothing was handed to me on a silver platter. Sure, the opportunities were there, but you have to seize them. It's the same in life and in business, right? If you're willing to put in the effort and stretch beyond your comfort zone, the sky's the limit.

So yes, while I've had my share of challenges, those experiences taught me the value of hard work, the importance of broadening my skill set, and the impact one individual can make when they're fully committed. Those lessons are still with me today, influencing how I operate professionally and especially how we run things at Superbeo. That's the long and short of it. Life won't hand you much, but what you want is achievable if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and get to work."

Biography/Fun Facts

  • In 10 Years, you see yourself?

"In a decade? If I project out to 2033, I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and ambition. Professionally, I envision Superbeo as a leading name in diversity staffing and a global game-changing force. We're already making strides in AI, healthcare, and cybersecurity. Still, in 10 years, I want us to be the go-to partner for communities and companies across all sectors looking to enrich their lives and workforce diversity.

After years of constant motion—military life, world travel, business ventures—I see myself continuing to value those quiet moments I cherish. I'll still be curling up with a good book, meditating, and most importantly, spending time with my husband and family. Those are the non-negotiables, no matter where life takes me.

It might sound like a paradox—ambitious goals for the business, tranquil goals for the home life—but I think that balance keeps everything in perspective."

  • People might be interested to know that?

"You might find it surprising, but long before I was leading Superbeo or even answering the call to serve in the military, I was quite the introvert and a voracious reader. I would read libraries—that's how much I loved books. Given that I grew up in a, let's say, "nuclear family"—and I don't mean the picture-perfect kind—I moved around a lot as a kid. It made books my constant companions. It may seem worlds apart from skydiving military ops or the hustle and bustle of running a business, but I've found those thousands of books invaluable in so many situations. Reading widely really does broaden your horizons.

  • What do you do to relax?

"That's a premium commodity these days, let me tell you! But when I find those rare pockets of time, it's all about the simple joys for me. You know, spending quality time with my husband and family—that's my sanctuary. After a childhood that was anything but static, an action-packed military stint, globetrotting travels, and now running a global company like Superbeo, the moments I cherish most are those quiet ones with the people I love.
But that's not all. I also love diving into a good book. After reading thousands of books growing up, the habit never really left me. And sometimes, I relish spending a few moments in quiet meditation. It's like a reset button for the soul.

So, between the whirlwind of meetings and emails, those peaceful moments—whether it's sharing a laugh with family, turning the pages of a gripping novel, or sitting in tranquil meditation—genuinely help me recharge. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
In the next decade, I see Superbeo evolving into a global leader in diversity staffing, while personally, I'll continue to cherish quiet moments with family and books. For relaxation, nothing beats quality time with my loved ones, a good read, or a few minutes of mindful meditation."
